Thinkpad Tablet - O2 - 3G Internetzugang

Nach dem Patch auf Android 4.0.3 können O2 Kunden mit dem Lenovo Thinkpad nicht mehr über 3G ins Internet. Der Lenovo Support bietet offiziell keine Lösung an. O-Ton "wir arbeiten daran - aktuell können wir nur einen downgrade auf Android 3.x anbieten - dazu muss das Gerät allerdings eingeschickt werden .... ".

Das kann ja wohl nicht die Lösung sein!

Ich habe in einem Forum die Lösung gefunden (leider habe ich den Orginallink des Forums nicht mehr ... sorry - reiche ich nach!)

Vor Drei Tagen habe ich den Patch installiert. Bis heute funktioniert mein Tablet ohne Einschränkungen der mobile Zugang über das O2 Netz klappte sofort ohne weitere Konfiguration!

Einzuger Mehraufwand: Sobald es einen offiziellen Patch von Lenovo gibt muss dieser Patch wieder entfernt werden (back to Production version) - keine Angst der "restore patch" entfernt tatsächlich nur den Interimspatch. Habe es getestet!

Procedure to apply patch
1 - Copy the file to an SD card.
2 - Make sure the Indigo tablet is powered OFF (not sleep, but a full shutdown).
3 - Insert the SD card into the Indigo.
4 - Boot the Indigo into "Recovery Mode"
- Hold the "Volume UP" key and the power button at the same time.
- When the Indigo vibrates, begin "tapping" the volume up button (press, release, press, release, etc)
- In about 1-2 seconds, you should see the message "Booting Recovery Console" on the Indigo. You can stop pressing the vol up button.
5 - Once in the recovery menu, the volume UP and DOWN keys move the "selection" and the power button is like pressing ENTER.
- Press the volume down button once to navigate to "Apply update from SD Card"
- Press the power button to select that.
- Now use the volume down button to navigate down to the update.
- Press the power button to begin applying it.
6 - It should take about 60-90 seconds to apply. Once it's done, reboot the device!
7 - Once you are back in the normal OS, go to Settings -> About tablet -> "System updates" and check for new updates as normal.

============== Aktualisierung: 06.07.2012 =====================

Heute hat Lenovo einen Patch für das Problem veröffentlicht!
Es kann direkt über das

Menü des Tablets  (am Bildschirm unten rechts)
- "Über das Tablet" (ganz nach unten scrollen)
- "Systemaktualisierungen"
- "Aus Aktualisierungen überprüfen" - aufgerufen werden.

Nach Installation des Patches funktioniert der O2 Internetzugang problemlos!

Hinweis: Wer das oben beschreibenen Patch installiert hat, muss vorher den Patch
"This Patch will put your system back in Production version" wie beschreiben durchführen.
